| The par 72, 7,063-yard golf
course at Parkland Golf & Country Club will be the first collaboration
between WCI and Greg Norman on Florida's east coast. This 18 hole golf
course with a special 19th Championship hole is designed to challenge
players of all levels. Featuring broad fairways, strategically placed
bunkers and generous bunkers, a competitor's passion for the game and
it's timeless traditions can be captured at Parkland Golf & County Club. |

| Greg Norman brings to Parkland
his renowned design philosophy to work with a site's natural elements,
maximizing the golf course's inherent beauty and playability. The Parkland
course will feature three distinct zones of planting that mimic the areas
natural habitats: the cypress swamp, the low hammock and the pine flatland. |
| |
HOLE I, Par 5
Black: 572 Blue: 538 White: 525 Green:
495 Red: 471
A medium length par 5 with a generous landing area invites all players
to hit driver from the first tee. The hole bends right to left and favors
a draw, Those wishing to go for this green in two will need to challenge
the bunkers on the right to get the best angle into the green. For those
laying up on the second shot a cross-bunker defines play in the approach.
A generous approach is provided on the right side if you can fly the cross-bunker
on your second shot. The best angle into the green is from the right as
a deep bunker guards the left side of this linear right to left green. |
| |
HOLE 2, Par 3 ,
Black: 217 Blue: 183 White: 149 Green:
130 Red: 93
A long right to left par 3 that plays out to a peninsula. The green is
guarded in front by a large waste bunker and collection areas left and
behind the green. Playing to the left side of the green taking plenty of
cjub is the best play. |
| |
HOLE 3, Par 4
Black: 427 Blue: 401 White: 379 Green:
353 Red: 333
This medium length par 4 plays left to right and is guarded by water on
the entire right side of the hole. A waste bunker at the green and the
landing area save errant shots from the water hazard. The island green
and approach is best accessed from the left side of the fairway. The green
complex runs left to right as well and offers little margin for error. |
| |
HOLE 4, Par 4
Black: 467 Blue:
434 White: 401 Green: 357 Red: 327
The longest par 4 on the front nine plays from left to right. A lake guards
the entire right side of the hole. Bunkers short left
'• of the landing area provide a good target for players to hit a
left to right drive. The landing area is quite generous beyond
, these bunkers. Longer hitters should aim for the second group
'.'. of bunkers through the fairway. The green is generous and is entirely
open in front to allow run up shots with fairway woods and long irons.
The lake continues to guard the right side
" of the green and a bunker left of the green catches players bailing
out away from the water. |
| |
HOLE 5, Par 4
Black: 361 Blue: 336 White: 323 Green:
312 Red: 246
A short par 4 that emphasizes placement, not length, on the drive. The
right side of the fairway provides better angles to the left pins and vice
versa. A waste bunker extends from the lake short left of the landing area
down the left side. The right side of the fairway is guarded by a pair
of formal bunkers that generally affect those players hitting driver. Hit
long iron or fairway wood to take the formal bunkers out of play. This
docs result in a longer iron on the approach to raised green site with
deep bunkers short right and left. Conversely, those hitting driver and
challenging the bunkers will be rewarded with a wedge approach. A portion
of the approach to the green is left open for run up shots, however, they
will not access the more difficult pins. |
| |
HOLE 6, Par 4
Black: 407 Blue: 377 White: 357
Green: 329 Red: 254
A medium length par 4 that turns from right to left. A lake and marsh area
guard the left side of the hole. A waste bunker defines the left side of
the approach as well. The bunker short right of the landing area is a good
target from the tee and is the safest part of the fairway. However, the
right side is the most difficult angle to this left to right green that
is guarded by water left and a small deep pot bunker on the right. Drives
on the left side of the hole arc rewarded with a good angle into the green.
There is plenty of room to the right of the green but the tightly mown
collection areas will draw the ball away from the putting surface leaving
a difficult up and down. |
| |
HOLE 7, Par 3
Black: 211 Blue: 186 White: 171 Green:
159 Red: 92
A long par 3 to a large green that runs perpendicular to the line of play.
The front right of the green is guarded by the water hazard and a small
pot bunker visually separates the green into two sections. A transition
in the green behind the pot bunker allows for players to hit a left to
right shot to the left center of the green and use the slope to access
the far right pin position. |
| |
HOLE 8, Par 4
Black: 387 Blue: 346 White: 318 Green:
291 Red: 275
A medium length par 4 that sweeps the opposite direction of hole 6. A left
to right tee shot can be targeted at the bunkers on the left side of the
landing area. A lake and marsh guard the right side of the hole with a
waste bunker guarding the approach and right side of the green. Again,
there is plenty of bail out room on the left away from the waste bunker
and many of the slopes will feed the golf ball onto the green surface. |
| |
HOLE 9, Par 5
Black: 533 Blue: 500 White: 470 Green:
460 Red: 423
A reachable par 5 for many players depending on the wind conditions. The
tec shot moves left to right and is guarded on the left by a group of bunkers.
The left side if the best angle into the green. A waste bunker guards the
right side of the approach and the green and it will affect those going
for the green in two and the lay up shot. Laying up to the left side of
the second landing area is preferable. The small green sits on the lake
edge and a pot bunker short left collects errant shots from those players
going for the green in two. There is plenty of risk on the second shot
with a reasonable amount of relief around the green complex and approach
to make the risk worthwhile for most players. |
| |
HOLE 10, Par 4
Black: 404 Blue: 379 White: 354 Green:
327 Red: 305
A medium length par 4 that plays from left to right and is guarded by water
on the right side of the hole. The approach into this green is best from
the left side of the landing area to a green protected by a deep bunker
and a water hazard on the right. |
| |
HOLE 11, Par 3
Black: 185 Blue: 172 White: 143 Green:
132 Red: 120
A medium length par 3 that plays from right to left. This Redan style green
pitches slightly away from the players and to the back left portion of
the green. Back left pins that arc guarded by the deep bunkers can be accessed
by hitting to the right portion of the green and letting the contour of
the green take the approach shot near the hole. The right side of the green
is guarded by a tightly mown collection area that leaves a difficult up
and down to a green that slopes away from the player. |
| |
HOLE 12 , Par 4
Black: 398 Blue: 372 White: 348
Green: 324 Red: 298
Another left to right par 4 that is guarded by water on the right along
the entire hole. Two formal bunkers must be negotiated on the left side
of the landing area to leave the best angle into this green. A waste bunker
guards the right side of the green and a tightly mown collection area to
the left allows players a bail out. |
| |
HOLE 13, Par 5
Black: 518 Blue: 491 White: 470
Green: 443 Red: 420
The first of the par 5"s on the hack nine plays from left to right
and is reachable for most players hitting a good tec shot!. A waste bunker
defines the left side of the fairway while the right side of fhe fail-way
provides the best angle for ;''tempting to hit the green in two. Water
guards the right side of the second half of the hole and a bunker short
left of the green will catch errant approach shots that are steered away
from the water hazard. The green complex is small and raised with tightly
mown collection areas protecting the safe side of the green. |
| |
HOLE 14 Par 4
Black: 518 Blue: 375 White: 326 Green:301 Red: 291
The water hazard on
the right side of the hole will once again influence the type of shot played
on the tee and the approach shot. A difficult medium length par 4 which
favors a left to right tee shot that challenges the large formal bunker
on the left side of the landing area. The green is long and angles from
left to right with a large deep formal bunker on the right side of the
green. |
| |
HOLE 15, Par 4
Black: 420 Blue: 391 White: 373 Green:
345 Red: 320
This long par 4 is a classic Cape hole that sweeps around the lake from
right to left. The left side of the fairway is the preferable angle into
the green. Players are tempted to bite off as much of the inside of the
dogleg as possible to shorten the approach and improve the angle to the
green. The left side of the green hugs the water hazard and the right side
is bunkered to make approach shots from the right side of the landing area
more difficult. |
| |
HOLE 16, Par 3
Black: 149 Blue: 142 White:134
Green: 128 Red: 121
The shortest par 3 on the course will challenge players with an undulating
green complex and a large waste bunker in front of the green. The green
site is raised and will repel errant shots into tightly mown collection
areas around the green. An excellent birdie chance before heading to the
difficult 17th. |
| |
HOLE 17, Par 4
Black: 480 Blue: 450 White: 424 Green:409 Red: 376
The longest par 4 on the course plays from right to left and is guarded
by a water hazard along the entire left side of the hole. The hole is bunkerless
and features a green complex guarded by a tiered transition in the approach.
The right side of the fairway provides players the best angle into the
green. Errant approach shots left of the green will find a swale that is
eight feet below the putting surface. Par is always a good score on a hole
of this length. |
| |
HOLE 18, Par 5
Black: 547 Blue: 522 White: 499 Green:
474 Red: 450
This closing par 5 is meant to provide an exciting finish to the round.
Longer players will be able to reach this medium length par 5. A left to
right tec shot is guarded by formal bunkers left and water right. When
laying up keep in mind the appropriate yardage for the third shot, as the
approach shot is a forced carry over water. Playing conservatively on the
drive and second shot can leave a long and very difficult third shot to
this shallow green that runs perpendicular to the line of play. Conversely,
aggressive players will be rewarded with hitting the green in two or a
short pitch shot on their third. The bunkers in the approach and the forced
carry provide the hazard that can separate a close match and ruin a low
round. A great finishing that allows birdies and bogies to players of all
abilities. |
